Safety tested: this wrap has passed US safety standards (ASTM F2907) in a government approved laboratory. The Girasol Eclipse wrap is woven in a medium gray thread (gris medio), with a stripe of silver (mercurio) along one rail, to make it easier to keep track of whether you have twisted the wrap behind your back.  Black zigzags run through the entire wrap – that is the beautiful herringbone weave in black (cuervo).   Eclipse is a unique artisan piece, handwoven on traditional looms in Guatemala.   I couldn’t resist naming it for the astronomical event many of us just witnessed. We drove for 8 hours to take our kids to see the totality of the solar eclipse. We saw the strange deepening of the light that tinted the world a strangely vivid hue as the sun was partially covered. And we found out that we could view the partial eclipse with our naked eyes when clouds crossed in front of the sun and the moon. Then we saw the “diamond ring” effect as the moon hovered momentarily on the cusp of totally covering the sun, and finally night fell. All around the horizon was a gentle pinkening as if the sun had set over 360 degrees of the horizon. And then the diamond ring was back – just for a glimpse – and then there was the sun again and the world was bright again.   This beautiful black wrap with the lighter gray rays zig zagging through it and an edge of silver . . .  remind me of the magic of our total eclipse adventure!   It will be easy to use straight out of the box as it is thin and supple, perfect for wrapping around a newborn or for back wrapping a heavy toddler and everything in between. Choose Woven Wrap Size

This graphic will help you identify your base size – the wrap length you would use for full length carries. You can choose to get your base size for the widest range of carries, or a shorter length for shorter carries with fewer layers. 2 sizes smaller than your base size is a good size for still having a lot of options if you prefer less fabric. Or get any size you prefer.

Eclipse has different color rails

Because this wrap does not have a color gradient – it is charcoal from one end to the other – I have designed it with a silver or light grey stripe along just one side. This makes it easy to keep track of your rails – meaning that you always know which side of the wrap is which and can tell if it had become twisted. This helps you get a smooth and even wrap carry that will stay comfortable for hours with even heavy toddlers!

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Most of my international shipments are sent by USPS Priority Mail International with a discounted shipping rate of $26 for most European and Australian shipments and $30 for most Canadian shipments.

USPS Priority International reports a shipping time of 6-10 business days to most major markets. That means that if you live far from a major city, it may take a little longer.

Woven wrap sizing depends mainly on the size of the adult using the wrap and which carries you want to be able to do.

If you are new to woven wraps, choose your base size wrap. Your BASE SIZE is the wrap length that will allow you to comfortably tie all of the full length carries.

If you live somewhere very hot or prefer to use a shorter wrap that will have fewer layers around you and baby, I recommend choosing a size that is 2 sizes smaller than your BASE SIZE.
