      step by step photo tutorial

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructions, step 1Step 1.  Center wrap at chest.

FWCC-Tutorial-Step2 Step 2.  Keeping the center at your chest, bring one side under your arm and across your back to the opposite shoulder.

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructions, step 3Step 3.  Do the same with the other end of the wrap.

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructions, step 4Step 4.  Hang both wrap ends over your shoulder and now you have a horizontal pocket across your chest for baby.

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructions, step 5Step 5.  Hold your baby on your shoulder in a burp position, then slide baby down into the pocket and guide his feet out through the bottom of the wrap.  Bring the top edge of the wrap up to baby’s shoulders and the bottom of the wrap down under baby’s bottom to form a seat that extends all the way to his knees.

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructions, step 6Step 6.  Hold baby with one hand and use the other hand to pull the wrap end up high to tighten the wrap around baby. Pull upwards, rather than forward across the shoulder, to reduce friction and get all the slack out of the wrap for a snug wrap job.

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructions, step 7Step 7.  Tighten one end of the wrap, then the other, again and again (keeping a hand on baby) until the wrap is holding your baby securely against you when you hold both wrap ends and baby doesn’t sink, lean, or budge at all when you take your hands off him.  The bottom of the wrap should be holding baby’s knees up and the top edge of the wrap should be snug so that baby cannot lean away from you.

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructions, step 8Step 8.  Bring the wrap ends straight down along baby’s sides, and cross under his bottom.  Bring the ends under baby’s legs.

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructions, step 9Step 9.  Tie a double knot behind you and you’re done!

Front Wrap Cross Carry instructionsThe cross on your back should be wide and flat (not twisted) for the most comfort and best weight distribution.
