Armida in a Front Cross Carry with a size 7 wrap (5.2 meters)

The best size wrap depends on your size, and which carries you want to be able to do. This page shows some of the carries that Armida can do with some different sizes. Armida is 5’2 and around 290 lbs. She uses a 5.2 meter wrap as a full length wrap (we judge her full length wrap as the shortest length that she can comfortably use to do a Front Wrap Cross Carry).

Armida uses a size 2 wrap for a rebozo carry. This is the popular carry that ring slings are designed to emulate and when you tie it off with a sliding knot, you can have all the adjustment of a ring sling without rings. It is good for newborns on the chest or bigger babies and toddlers on your hip. Size 2 is around 2.6 or 2.7 meters long, also called a REBOZO.

The same simple rebozo carry can be tied on the back for a surprisingly comfy one-shouldered back carry, or you can swing your front carry around to the back under your arm.

Toddler Kangaroo Carry TUB with a size 4 woven wrap (about 3.7 meters)

Armida4KangarooWrap Size approx 3.7 meters

Armida uses a 3.7 meter wrap for a Kangaroo Carry with her toddler. This is the perfect length for Kangaroo Carry tied under bottom (TUB). This carry is sometimes called a Front Rucksack Carry. A size 4 wrap is about 3.7 meters long and is also known as EXTRA-SMALL.

Toddler Front Cross Carry in a size 6 woven wrap (about 4.7 meters) on plus size mom

Armida6FCC-1Wrap Size approx 4.6 meters

Armida demonstrates Front Cross Carry with a size 6 wrap. This is a great carry for infants or toddlers that is easy to pop baby in and out of without retying. She has tied in the very tips of the tails and says she is really more comfortable doing this carry with a size 7 wrap. You can see part of the wrap flopping down over her daughter’s right leg. That is because the wrap tail is tapered (cut on a diagonal) and the shorter end didn’t make it into her knot.
