Simple Guide to Choosing a Woven Wrap

Modern parenting is plagued by too many choices and too many opinions.

Let me simplify your wrap choice: pick the one you will want to reach for every day for the next two years.  The one that brightens your day, that makes you feel like sharing a selfie.

Choose a Wrap That Makes You Feel Pretty

Each brand has its own proprietary weave and fiber sourcing that does give the wraps slightly different qualities, but honestly their similarities are greater than their differences and unless you have tried several different brands, they are rather academic.  I don’t carry any wrap I think you won’t love!

To give you somewhere to start, so you don’t have to look through every wrap, I have categorized each of the wrap brands I carry into helpful lists.

Easiest for beginners (wraps that are not stiff at first or too thick or grippy):
Wrapsody Breeze
Girasol
EllaRoo
Ellevill
Didymos cotton
Easycare
Lenny Lamb
Colimacon et Cie (C&C)

Best for newborns:
All the wraps I stock are perfect for newborns, but some of them arrive soft and cuddly while the Natibaby and Storchenwiege wraps are sometimes quite stiff until broken in and Wrapsody Breeze and EllaRoo wraps are easy to use, but not as soft to the touch until they’ve been broken in.  You can break in your wrap by washing it, using it (LOTS), ironing it, and sitting on or playing with it.  Order early so you have time to break it in before baby arrives.

Soft brand new (these wraps are great choices for beginning wrappers or newborn wrapping because they are soft, supple and relatively thin):
Girasol
Ellevill
Easycare
Lenny Lamb
Colimacon et Cie (C&C)
Didymos Lisca

Most supportive of heavy kids:
Storchenwiege
Natibaby
Lenny Lamb
Ellevill (except for the cotton/bamboo blend)
Colimacon et Cie (C&C)

Most affordable (but still high quality comfort):
Wrapsody Breeze
EllaRoo
Lenny Lamb (stripes & solids)
Storchenwiege
Colimacon et Cie (C&C)

Best for staying cool in hot climates:
Wrapsody Breeze
EllaRoo
Ellevill
Easycare
Didymos Waves
