Woven wrap sizing depends mainly on two things:
- the size of the adult using the wrap
- which carries you want to be able to do
Your BASE SIZE is the wrap length that will allow you to comfortably tie a Front Wrap Cross Carry (FWCC) behind your back and all of the full length carries.
By the way, I stock only high quality, comfortable woven wraps. All of the wraps in my store can be used for babies and toddlers of all ages and in all positions (front, back and hip) that the wrap length allows. Got any questions about, you just let me know!
Carrying Guide for Each Size of Woven Wrap
Size 2 Woven Wrap Carries: A Size 2 woven wrap (previously called a Rebozo) is very portable, folds up small in a diaperbag, can be tied around your waist, or used as a scarf. It’s great for wet/dirty weather because you can put it on without dragging the ends in the mud. It’s great for Summer because there is so little fabric around you and your baby. Because most of these shortest carries do not wrap entirely around the wearer’s torso, the same carries can be done by people of different sizes.

Wrap Sizing Explained (in meters)
A 3.6 or 3.7 meter woven wrap is called a size 4.
This size is most often the base size for those wearing XS or S t-shirts. If wrapping a toddler, you may want to size up to a size 5.
You don’t have to be petite to enjoy this size. If you find yourself preferring shorter carries that are still to long to use a shorty, this may be perfect for you.
A 4.1 or 4.2 meter woven wrap is called a size 5.
This size is often base for those wearing S or M t-shirts. If you wear size M and are wrapping a toddler, you may want to size up to a size 6.
You don’t have to be petite to enjoy this size. If you find yourself preferring shorter carries that are still to long to use a shorty, this may be perfect for you.
A 4.6 or 4.7 meter woven is called a size 6.
This size is often the base size for those wearing Medium, Large, and XL t-shirts and is the most popular woven wrap size. If you weigh more than 180 lbs and are either wrapping a toddler or have broad shoulders or large breasts, you may want to size up to a 7.
A 5.1 or 5.2 meter woven is called a size 7. This is the LARGE full length wrap. This size is often base for those wearing XL or 2X t-shirt size and will be perfect for all of the full length wrap carries. It can also be used by someone who normally uses a size 6 but wants more room for tandem babywearing, or doing extra long carries or fancy finishes.
A 5.6 or 5.7 meter woven wrap is called a size 8. This is the XL full length wrap. It varies greatly but this size is often base for those wearing 2X or 3X t-shirts or for moms who wear dress size 22US/24UK or larger.
For reference, most popular brands of stretchy wrap are one-size-fits-all, and that size is around 5.5 meters, between a woven wrap size 7 and size 8.
Most wraps are not made in a size 8, but I have my exclusive Girasol wraps woven in this size so the Wrap Your Baby Girasol page is often where you can find a size 8 or 9 wrap.
A 6.1 or 6.2 meter wrap (or occasionally 6.0 meters) is called a size 9 and is the XXL full length wrap. This is a great option for parents who find a size 8 to be not quite long enough.
Size 9 is pretty rare and can be difficult to find but as I have the weavers make my Girasol designs in this size for Wrap Your Baby, you can often find my exclusive Girasol wraps available in size 9 here.
